Verdana's Life at Snowdin: Chapter 2: The Strange Story

As the monster kid told his story, the details shocked me. "I was running after my friends. They were running ahead of me to play in the woods. I ran, but I couldn't keep up with them. I sat down for a bit to catch my breath, then I saw something, it was glowing blue. When I saw it, I got very excited, I thought it was Undyne. She's the leader of the royal guard, I want to be just like her! I ran towards the glow to see if it was really her. As I ran, I tripped over something. It looked like a long tail." I was thinking about who might've had a long tail, then I finally figured out who. That lizard that took my phone. Why would he do that? Was it really him, or was it somebody else?

 After a few minutes, the kids parents ran in. He ran to them and told them what happened. "I'm really sorry Mom, I'll be more careful. But she saved me! She's really cool!" He said, looking at me with joy. I smiled back as I watched them leave the inn. Just then, I heard a voice, and felt a hand on my shoulder. "You're a hero to them, kid. You're new right?" they said as I turned around to face them. "Something had to be done. Yes, I'm new here. I'm Verdana, and you are?" I said, holding out my hand. "I'm Sans, Sans the skeleton." He brought his hand out to shake mine. I heard a sound coming from his hand, pffffffffttt. I looked up at him, and I saw that he was trying to hold back a laugh. "Hehe, the old whoopee cushion in the hand trick, always funny!" he chuckled. I began to giggle a bit.

After a while, I decided to head to Grillby's. It sounded like a nice place to eat. As I sat down, Grillby came out to take my order. "I'd like a burger." I said. He then moved his hands to make symbols in sign language. "Do you want some ketchup with that?" he said in sign.  I replied "Yes" in sign. He nodded politely and entered the kitchen.
