Verdana's Life at Snowdin: Chapter 1: A Fresh Start

It was a chilly morning in Snowdin. The cool breeze came through my window, waking me up instantly. I heard my Mom calling me. "Verdana!" My Mom cried, "If you're awake, your breakfast is at the table! I'm off to work!" A few second after, the door slammed. I lied back on my pillow. Why did we have to move here? We used to live in Hotland. It was a great place to be, especially in my neighborhood. Apparently, my Mom had to switch jobs, and we had to move here. I didn't really see her often, and we never really talked that often. I let a huge sigh. After awhile, I got up and had breakfast, then I got ready and went outside for a walk.

It was a beautiful day outside, and kids were running around, laughing like nothing bad ever happened here. The other monsters were at the library and Grillby's. I walked past a strange looking lizard, who then ended up taking my phone! "Hey! Give it back! That's not funny!" I said in surprise. He looked at me like I didn't say anything. "Sorry, I'm deaf in this ear. What was I going to say? Oh yes, like I'd ever listen to you!" I managed to get my phone back. He tried to catch me, but I ran out of the village and into the woods. I hit the snow hard, some of it got into my jacket. I just kept thinking, "If Mom didn't get this job, we wouldn't have to be here." I felt sick because of it. I sat against a tree, thinking of Hotland. Minutes later, I heard footsteps. I sat up from the tree, thinking about who was behind me. I went near another tree that was bigger than the other. The footsteps stopped, then I heard shouting, like someone was calling for somebody. When I looked, I couldn't believe what I saw.

Who did Verdana see? Who was the lizard that took Verdana's phone? We shall find out in the next chapter. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
